The Federation of Ekiti State Students Union (FESSU), of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has urged the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, to urgently beef up security on campus following cases of alleged invasion of the institution by security operatives, hooliganism, cultism, and other physical violence in the institution.

Two weeks ago, some operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), besieged a section of the campus and arrested four students for undisclosed reasons.

The requests, which were contained in a statement signed by the FESSU, EKSU President, Alegbeleye Ayorinde, expressed displeasure at the arrest and unlawful incarceration of some students of the university without linking them to any verifiable crime.
