Katsina Govt Puts off Masari’s Inauguration, Cites Banditry


The Katsina State Government on Thursday disclosed that it has cancelled activities lined up for the May 29 inauguration ceremony of new the administration in the state, nnxblog.com gathered.

It was learnt by nnxblog.com that the government referenced the current security situation in the state as the reason for the cancellation, adding that the state government would also use the period of the cancellation to honour victims of bandits’ attacks in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Inuwa in a statement, stated that the only activity that would take place would be the mandatory swearing-in of the governor and his deputy respectively while the statement did not make public when and where the swearing-in would take place.

Meanwhile, nnxblog.com reported yesterday that the security chiefs sent to the state to access the level of banditry in the state arrived Katsina yesterday.
