The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Friday sealed off the Lagos residence of Mr Amaju Pinnick, president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
According to reports, officials of the commission placed the house located inside Parkview estate in Ikoyi, a highbrow area in Lagos, under lock, over corruption allegations levelled against the NFF Head.
The commission had earlier of Friday sealed off the Abuja residence of NFF second Vice President, Shehu Dikko.
According to ICPC spokesperson, Rasheedat Okoduwa, Dikko’s residence was sealed because he and some NFF executives are under investigation.
Reports are also rife that some top officials of the Apex football body in the country are currently on the run over fear of possible arrest.
The officials are accused of allegedly converting money meant for the federation to personal use hence the investigation by the commission officials.
NFF president Pinnick, the first Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi, Dikko, Mohammed Sanusi, secretary general of NFF and Yusuf Fresh, a board member, will appear before a federal high court in Abuja on September 26, 2019, for allegedly diverting FIFA grants reportedly running into billions of naira.
Officials of the NNF have earlier said world apex football body FIFA, reserves the right to probe the allegations.
