President Buhari departs Abuja for TICAD7 in Japan


President Buhari has left Abuja for Japan to patriciate in the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7).

A statement by the President’s media aide, Mr Femi Adesina, said President Buhari’s participation would be his second, having attended TICAD6 in Nairobi, Kenya, in Aug. 2016.

Participants are drawn not only from African countries, but also international organisations, private companies and civil society organisations involved in development.

President Buhari who left yesterday, was accompanied by Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno, AbdulRaham AbdulRazaq of Kwara and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos; ministers and other top government officials.

The conference will hold from August 28th to 30th, and the President is expected back in Nigeria on Saturday, August 31.
