Taylor Swift breaks record and lands fifth number one album in the UK

American singer, Taylor Swift is running away with achievements, and steadily capping as the most successful musician in history.

She just became the first and only female artist in the 21st Century to reach five number one studio albums in the UK, after her eighth studio album ‘folklore‘ released just days back, topped the charts.

The album by the 30-year-old singer, now joins her 2012 record ‘Red‘, 2014’s ‘1989‘, 2017’s ‘Reputation‘, and last year’s ‘Lover‘ as the five albums to score a number one spot.

And that’s not all, Swift also dominated the Singles Chart too, with three of her new album’s tracks making it into the top 10 – ‘cardigan‘ at number six, her Bon Iver collaboration ‘exile‘ at number eight, and ‘the 1‘ at number 10.

And if not for the current chart rules which prevent an artist from charting more than three songs as a lead artist, tracks from Swift’s ‘folklore’ album would have also swooped up 12 other spots, clinching numbers 13, 15, 18, 21, 24, 31, 36, 37, 40, 42, 45 and 51.
