Teenager hailed as “hero” for killing militants who killed her parents

A teenage girl in Afghan is being praised for her “heroism” after she shot dead two members of the Taliban militants who attacked her village in the Ghor province last week and killed her parents.

The girl believed to be aged between 14 and 16, whose circulating photo showed her holding her family’s AK-47 assault rifle, is believed to have also injured several order members of the Taliban after they had attacked her house because the girl’s father was a government supporter.

Officials say the girl and her younger brother had since been relocated to a safer place.
